Don't be a sell out... Sell Out!
That was one of my biggest reflections after Monday night’s PMI Atlanta Chapter Dinner Meeting.
The room was sold out.
The energy was high.
The satisfaction reviews came in above 90%.
And the message from attendees was clear:𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟮.
Noel Ransom Washington’s keynote, “You’re Doing the Work… So Why Aren’t You Moving?”,…

@TAGSamuel Great takeaways, thanks for sharing!
It’s a tough realization that just putting your head down and doing great work isn’t always enough to advance, but building intentional visibility changes everything.
Sounds like Noel delivered an excellent keynote for the PMI Atlanta community!

The realization that hard work doesn’t automatically equal visible work is exactly why so many talented professionals feel stuck. We are often taught to just put our heads down and execute, but intentional visibility and community connection are what actually drive meaningful career growth.

Leadership a week agoBefore you improve the process, understand the problem flow
Small business owners and emerging consultants often move quickly into solution mode because they are used to figuring things out.
But the first visible problem is not always the real problem.
A missed deadline may point to unclear ownership.
A frustrating client experience may point to a weak intake process.
A messy workflow may point to…View more comments-
@TAGSamuel Moving fast to fix a process without clarity just means we end up solving the wrong problems at record speed. Great reminder 😃

I definitely have a habit of wanting to jump straight into solution mode when things go wrong, but treating a symptom just guarantees the issue will pop up again later. Taking a step back to actually map out the problem flow first is such a better approach for sustainable business process improvement. When a workflow breaks down, I almost…

Leadership 3 weeks agoWhat program leadership looks like when everything is on fire
Senior leaders are expected to deliver results across teams, but when challenges span multiple functions, things quickly break down. Ownership becomes unclear, stakeholder alignment is weak, and teams operate in silos. What starts as a technical issue turns into a broader organizational problem—stalling progress and creating frustration across…

@brown Debra, It’s always tempting to just react when a project is on fire, but pausing to actually map out the dependencies is the smartest move.
I’ve found that the toughest cross-functional challenges usually get solved the moment you align stakeholders on clear ownership.
Great breakdown of what effective program leadership looks like in the trenches.

After more than 20 years managing various kinds of projects and dealing variety of stakeholders. My profound finding would be the PEOPLE, who can make and break the project. There were times people in the project team just leave without notice and stakeholders causing melodrama over nothing. Project sponsors thinking they owned project team…

Leadership 4 months agoLeadership Communication: The One Conversation New Managers Avoid (And Why It Breaks Trust)
Leadership communication isn’t about being nice.
It’s about being clear before small problems become team drama.
I watched a new manager lose their team without realizing it.
Not through a big mistake.
Through silence.
One person on the team kept missing…

@victor-o Brilliant post Victor, loved the tactical tips to becoming a better leader!
As one of my favorite xSEAL leaders Jocko Willink says – ‘a leaders action of what they “tolerate” defines the team’s standard and culture.1 -
that is a nice saying from your xSEAL leader, i am glad you love the tips

Leadership 8 months agoToo often, people see leadership as a throne, a spotlight, or a title. But true leadership isn’t about being above others. It’s about being willing to serve.
In tennis, no game begins until someone serves. And in life, no true influence begins until someone chooses to serve. Every great leader you admire today, in business, in faith, in…

Leadership a year agoTrue Leadership Goes Beyond a Title
Leadership isn’t about the title on your business card. It’s about the actions you take and the impact you make every day.
1. Influence, Not Authority: Real leaders inspire and motivate, earning respect through their actions.
2. Empathy Matters: Understand and connect with your team. Show you care about their…
